Description
Following on from the first batch of KuMoHa 52s, one of the most popular railcars on the Iida Line prior to 1978, KATO's Iida Line series now features a second batch of these cars. The KuMoHa 52s, introduced in 1936 for Kansai express service, underwent numerous iterations before being deployed to the Iida Line in 1957. At the time, the Iida Line was bustling with many old-style national railways, but the KuMoHa 52s were exceptionally popular, attracting numerous train enthusiasts from across the country to experience the "Ryuden" (electric current) style.
The first batch of KuMoHa 52s features narrow side windows and uniformly positioned rain gutters. The figure accurately recreates the unique appearance of each car, including differences between KuMoHa 52001 and 002 (front window size, taillight position, pantograph, etc.) and between SaHa 48021 and 024 (rivets, presence or absence of sign posts, etc.).
- The long-awaited Iida Line Old National Railway Series is now available, featuring the first edition of the Kumoha 52 series, with both leading cars consisting of Kumoha 52 Series 001 and 002 (first edition) and Saha 48021 and 024.
Each car has narrow side windows and globe ventilators, and the rain gutters are almost evenly positioned, accurately recreating the neat appearance of the train.
Kumoha 52s are made into 001 and 002, respectively. The distinctive taillight position of 001 is also reproduced.
The cream and blue paint scheme known as "Suka-iro" is also clearly reproduced.
A power unit equipped with a slotless motor with a flywheel ensures stable running.
Headlights and taillights light up.
