Description

The 227 Series 1000 is a two-car DC suburban EMU introduced from 2019 for JR West services in the Wakayama and Nara area, replacing older JNR-era stock and improving day-to-day regional services.

The green-based livery reflects the culture, history and natural scenery of the Nara and Wakayama regions. Although related to the 227 Series 0, the 1000 sub-series has differences such as door operation indicators, long-seat interiors and other local-service details.
