Description

This 5-car set represents the additional formation for the E231 Series 1000 from Oyama Vehicle Center. It is designed to work with KATO's 10-car set to recreate a full 15-car Utsunomiya / Takasaki Line style train.

The Oyama E231 Series 1000 formations have distinctive early-batch details compared with later Tokaido Line sets, including the continuous green side band, small roof air-conditioners and different cab/vehicle arrangements.

• Outer leading ends use dummy couplers; inner leading ends use KATO close couplers without hooks for coupled running.
• Body-mounted KATO close couplers with hooks fitted between cars.
