As a real train, Express “Sado” which connected Ueno and Niigata was put in the service in 1963 using series 165. It is well known as a train departing from Ueno. It was seen as a 13 car consist with two 1st class (green) cars. Either car SAHASHI 165 with half a car buffet or SAHA 164 with shop was in the train.
Until it was decommissioned simultaneously with the extension of Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train line to Ueno, it was used by numerous travellers.

Combination of the basic model set and 7 car add-on set will enable the train consist either with SAHASHI 165 or SAHA 164.
