nealemonks –
Useful sound card for smaller North American steam locos including the classic Kato 'Mikado' as well as Pacifics and 4-6-0s from other manufacturers. Nice, throaty chuff-chuff sound as the train pulls away, and you can use the Sync dial (or slider on the app) to speed up or slow down the chuffing to suit your model. There are three different whistles to choose from, plus a bell, a coupler clanking sound, and various other sound effects that can be triggered with buttons on the Sound Box. As with other Sound Cards, the brake sound plays until the train comes to a halt. Button #6 is for drifting, cutting out the chuffing sound when the train is in motion, or else, when the train is stationary triggers a water filling sequence of sounds ideal for use under a water tower.
Only negatives are that one or two of the sounds are a little quiet compared to the others (the water filling sounds in particular) and the lack of the Sound Synchronised model seen on some other cards that replicate the momentum setting on some DC controllers.
