In order to be used as a limited express vehicle for the Yo5000 container express ``Takara'', the running device of the Yo3500 type limited express vehicle was modified to a two-stage link from 1959, making it capable of running up to 85 km.
It is active on freight trains all over the country from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and even as of 2019, you can still see it working on JR Freight, Tobu Railway, etc. The steps on the deck where the brake handle is located are painted white. You can enjoy a wide range of reproductions of freight trains and Class A transport trains from the JNR era to the present.
The prototype is from the late 1970s, at the end of the Japanese National Railways era. Both sides of the front of the deck, both ends reproduce the appearance of a car with oil stove installed.
