Description
E257 series 5500 series is a limited express vehicle for the Boso area E257 series 500 series modified in 2021 for commuters. The front shape conforms to the 2500 series, but the interior has been minimally remodeled, such as installing a luggage space. The design is a white body with green stripes, giving it a different impression from the 2500 series.
After its appearance as a commuter train, from the timetable revision in March 2023, the operation of the limited express train of the Takasaki Line system, which had been operated by the 651 series until then, was replaced, and the regular train "Kusatsu / Shima )/Akagi”.
