Description
Veteran Denki EF81 300 series for freight transportation within Kyushu shining silver. KATO will commercialize the EF81 300 series, which is still engaged in freight transportation within Kyushu, with JR Freight specifications. The EF81 300 series had a stainless steel body structure as a countermeasure for passing through the Kanmon tunnel. Two cars (301 and 302) were transferred to the Joban Line. After that, in 1986, they gathered in Moji again and were remodeled to pull freight trains. After privatization, it was handed over to JR Freight, and after 1998, renewal work was carried out, and from 2010, the operation at the barrier was handed over to the successor EH500, and it was changed to operation in Kyushu. All four units were lent to the Toyama Engine Depot for a period of time, and at that time, silver-colored Units 303 and 304 with snow plows were also seen and attracted attention. Currently, Unit 303 continues its last activity in Kyushu.
