Description

The 701 Series is a familiar JR East suburban EMU used on regional services across the Tohoku area. This KATO set represents the 701 Series 1000 in Morioka colour, used on routes including the Tohoku Main Line between Ichinoseki and Morioka.

The Morioka colour version is distinguished by its purple line and contrasting band around the upper body. The compact two-car formation is suitable for small layouts and can also be coupled with another set to reproduce a four-car working.
