Description
The sleeper express ``Sakura'', which was changed to the 20 series in 1964, is a traditional train nickname that represents Japan National Railways in both name and reality.
The formations seen in operation from 1965 to 1972 were divided and merged at Hizen Yamaguchi (currently Kohoku) Station on the Nagasaki Main Line into formations bound for Nagasaki and formations bound for Sasebo. The Maya 20, a modified Suha 32 series simple power supply vehicle, was connected to the Sasebo formation.
