●The JR Shikoku 8000 series is a limited express direct current electric train from JR Shikoku, whose prototype appeared in 1992. It uses a controlled natural pendulum system, and is available in 5-car and 3-car formations with non-through and through leading cars, and in addition to splitting and combining 5-car + 3-car formations, they are also used individually. Mass-produced cars were introduced in 1993, and large-scale interior and exterior renovation work was carried out in 2004. Further renovation work and paint changes have been carried out since 2023, and the train continues to be active today while changing its appearance with the times.
