Description

EF66 27 was the last surviving EF66 0 series locomotive inherited by JR Freight, and became especially popular because it retained the classic JNR-style blue and cream appearance after renewal. It left regular service in 2022 but remains a highly recognisable locomotive for modern freight modellers.

KATO's model represents No. 27 after its September 2006 renewal, including the body, roof and skirt differences that made the locomotive distinctive. It is a natural partner for Koki container trains such as the Kangaroo Liner SS60.
